In many ways, the deployment of an SCM application is similar to an ERP implementation. Many SCM service players also have strong ERP deployment experience.
In the past, consultants would provide the management and IT consulting work while systems integrators would deploy the system, interface or integrate it and sometimes manage the system. The application vendor would support the end users and its system integration partners.
