The growing number of B2B internet exchanges are predominantly buyer-driven, and as a result individual suppliers are being increasingly squeezed – both by strong price competition in different markets, and by pressure to participate in different exchanges by different customers.
Many suppliers are increasingly unable to differentiate themselves from competitors because they are compared solely on price rather than service, brand or quality.
