GartnerGroup predicts that by 2001, workflow services will be a core component of supply chain management projects as they help improve the timeliness and effectiveness of inter-enterprise process co-ordination and administration.
Until now, Staffware argues, the core of such co-ordination has been limited to electronic data interchange (EDI). More enterprises now need to automate processes that cross departmental and enterprise boundaries.
