EAI is generating a lot of talk and a fair amount of action among the biggest consultancies, as well as among software vendors specialising in EAI tools.

ERP vendors too are getting interested in EAI, seeing it as a way to ‘own’ the space between basic products and add-ons such as CRM and e-business, even if they can’t actually own those add-ons.

So far, however, EAI players and advocates are having only limited success in getting their message across to the generality of end user companies, as this issue’s survey suggests.
