As this issue’s survey shows, the typical smaller organisation is in a state of blissful ignorance about EAI.

Not only are these organisations’ IT managers less than comfortable with the term ‘EAI’ but they often don’t recognise many – or in some cases any – of the major products or vendors.

It’s not that these companies aren’t interested in integration – they manifestly see the need to integrate their existing systems with new ones, particularly the ones that are going to get them ready for e-business.
