Q1: Workflow and KM.

A: Workflow and knowledge management complement each other as enablers to business effectiveness. Workflow systems provide effective processes, but not necessarily the knowledge, information or intelligence required for success.

Companies need to design flexible e-process business environments where web enablement, intranet, workflow (including document management), existing legacy systems and knowledge management are seamlessly integrated to work together co-operatively.

Although workflow and knowledge management strategies and systems are often developed independently, there is no evidence that workflow is being abandoned in favour of KM.
