After all the hype surrounding
e-business and e-supply chains, it is easy to forget that for most companies these ideas are still at a relatively early stage. Examples of best practice remain relatively scarce.
That said, there are clear signs of a rapid take-up of e-business practices by companies worldwide. For example, 82% of the organisations responding to a recent Business Intelligence survey have an e-business strategy in place – driven to a large extent by supply chain costs and efficiency (see Figure 1).
