Collaborative Supply Chain (March 2002) Summary
Internet technology is the building block that allows companies to introduce more highly developed collaborative supply chains, with automated links to their suppliers, partners and customers.
Our research assesses how far this potential has been converted into reality – and the message seems to be many companies are running just to stand still.
Web software allows supply chains to become slicker and quicker, but the result is also a much more complex web of connections between companies which many of them are struggling to manage.
And the pace of change and innovation doesn’t seem to slacken: Jeremy Batchelor highlights the arrival of a new breed of supply chain visibility systems, among other briefing articles by experts from the likes of Logica and IBM Global Services.
Last month’s issue had an article by Jon Hawkins whose contact details changed just after we went to press. He can be reached on 01582 872443 or 07785 258782 or jon.hawkins@btconnect.com.
