The adoption of web services standards and enterprise portals means that both staff and business partners are gaining increased access to corporate information. But greater access raises concerns about security.
All businesses face a challenge in deploying effective IT security in line with their business mission, especially in web-based inter-networked environments. Add to this the capability for serving clients with information via portals, and applications across the internet, and the potential for risk can increase dramatically.
