David Brownlow: financial institutions will gain a great deal from outsourcing

It is widely predicted that offshore outsourcing will grow exponentially. However, recent research by Huntswood Outsourcing Solutions reveals a high prevalence of ‘nimby’ (not in my back yard) attitudes towards offshore outsourcing.

The 100 directors of financial services companies surveyed predicted that offshore outsourcing will more than double in the next five years. However, when asked whether they would consider offshoring commonly outsourced functions, such as financial call centres, 80% said they would not.
