Q1. Relationship.

A: Project management is a major component of PSA solutions, as is resource management and time and expense management. In organisations where project management is the primary application used to complete work, many companies will supplement and integrate their PSA solution with an external project management solution such as Microsoft Project, or Artemis.

Other PSA solutions have very powerful project management capabilities and therefore serve as either a PSA solution or a project management solution – examples include PlanView and Primavera.

These supercharged ‘project management’ solutions are also called project portfolio management (PPM) solutions because they have additional capabilities that enable them to better understand all of the projects, their time and cost commitments, as well as their strategic value to the organisation.
