The technology panacea for assisted analytics is to combine OLAP and data mining in a format that is usable by business users. This presents the opportunity to give assistance in framing the questions and the environment to confirm, or otherwise, the relationships identified within a usable interface.

Providing access to the ‘questions you don’t know’ pre-supposes that you need to do this. But in what way is it important to answer the questions you don’t know in addition to those that you do? And why is it important to put this in the hands of business users?
