Aside from enabling businesses to manage the link between strategy and delivery more effectively, one of the spin-off benefits of a CPM implementation is that it should enable you to retire some or all of your existing planning, reporting and management information systems. Indeed, legacy system retirement should be an important element of most CPM business cases.

Often, though, the individual business units who use these legacy systems have become emotionally attached to them, and do not want to see them go.
